Rando Tomson was born and grew up in a small Estonian town Viljandi. He graduated in 2002 from the C.R. Jakobson School and moved to Tallinn to study Industrial and Civil Engineering. Rando graduated from Tallinn Technical University and earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Now he is one of the owners and board member of engineering company Skeleton LTD.
Rando’s technical background has also influenced his photography. He loves accuracy, clean and minimalistic lines. Less is definitely more!
Rando’s first experience of photography goes back to when he was just a child when he started exploring the world of photography with his father, who loved to take pictures of everyday life. One of his favourite scenes was also a cross-country race, of which he loved to take photos.
For a while, when people didn’t develop their films by themself, the connection with photography was lost. But after Rando’s cousin Hannes, who is an excellent wildlife documentalist (www.keskkond.eu) asked him once to go for a photo hunt to take photos of wild pigs and roe deers. Since then Rando has never let go of his passion for photography.
Currently Rando doesn’t have much time for nature photography but he has found his passion in portrait and wedding photography.
In his spare time, Rando continues to work to develop ways of combining his passion of photography with his childhood dreams of exploring nature. Rando regularly heads back to beautiful places in Estonian country side to recharge his mind, body and spirit.
